2021 Annual Business Meeting

Letter from the Chair

Dear Commission Members,

As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, many uncertainties still exist. Still, as a Commission, we are stronger than before.
Reflecting on the challenges and hopeful future, the Executive Committee recently met. During our conversation, members carefully weighed the advancements we have made as a nation against ongoing public health concerns. We were encouraged by the rollout of vaccines and expressed optimism for a swift return to normalcy as the year progresses. Yet, when considering an in-person Annual Business Meeting, we agreed that a virtual format was the right choice for 2021.

I deeply regret that we cannot convene in person. However, a virtual platform enables more of your staff to attend and eliminates lingering issues with travel restrictions and public health concerns.

In the meantime, we will continue to build on the success of our 2020 meeting and will renew efforts to provide an even better virtual experience. Moreover, the ABM Workgroup will explore how we can engage in new ways and will develop an agenda that addresses our current needs.

The date of our virtual meeting remains the same, September 27-29, 2021. Until then, we eagerly anticipate working with you as we expand our opportunities to engage commissioners, deputy compact administrators, and other members of your staff. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months; and, let us know what you are looking forward to the most at this year’s meeting.

We look forward to seeing you online this fall.

Regards,

Jeremiah Stromberg
