Sara Andrews
Commissioner, Ohio

Sara Andrews was appointed Deputy Director of the Division of Parole and Community Services (DPCS) for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) in March 2010. Sara is also the Ohio Commissioner for the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision (ICAOS) and Chief of the Adult Parole Authority (APA). Sara had previously served as the Superintendent of the Adult Parole Authority since 2003. She has been employed with DRC since 1991 and in a variety of positions including parole officer, hearing officer with the Ohio Parole Board, deputy superintendent of the APA and assistant to the Deputy Director of the DPCS. Ms. Andrews’ academic background includes a B.A. from the University of North Colorado and M.S. degree from the University of Dayton, Ohio. She has authored and co-authored articles in the Ohio Justice Alliance for Community Corrections (OJACC) newsletter (2009), the Ohio Community Corrections Association (OCCA) newsletter (2006-2008), the Ohio Judicial Conference “For the Record” publication, the Ohio Judicial Conference Bill Board publication (2007, 2008) and the National Institute of Corrections, “Ohio’s Evidence-Based Approach to Community Sanctions and Supervision (January 2007). Ms. Andrews is a member of the Ohio Justice Alliance for Community Corrections, Ohio Chief Probation Officer Association, American Probation and Parole Association, the Interagency Council Homelessness and Affordable Housing, and Chair of the Ohio Council of Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision.
