The National Office released today the fourth Interstate Compact Best Practice article, this one discussing Creating a Funding Mechanism for Retaking Compact Offenders, Interstate Compact Return Fund.

Timely retaking is a challenge for many states mostly due to issues such as limited resources, lack of enabling legislation, local policies, practices, etc. Identifying effective retaking practices, including establishing revenue generating programs to defray costs, are likely to enhance compliance.
