In 1987 he began employment with the New York State Division of Parole as a parole officer, assigned to New York City. In 1990 he was re-assigned to develop the agency's Victim Impact Program. In 1997 he was assigned to the Interstate Office as a Parole Services Program Specialist and was appointed Special Assistant to the Deputy Compact Administrator. In 2005, he was named Deputy Compact Administrator. He was named Commissioner for New York in 2007. He received his B.A. degree in Counseling Psychology at State University of New York at Albany.
